Vote YES on 1

Tennessee: Abortion Destination

abortion destination

On November 4th, 2014 Tennesseans will have the chance to vote YES on Amendment 1 or NO on Amendment 1. In 2000, the TN Supreme Court made a ruling that a woman’s right to have an abortion is tied to her right to privacy. One in four women traveling across borders, leaving their own state to seek abortion in Tennessee, might make Tennessee become more popular than the Grand ‘Ole Opry and the Smoky Mountains…it’s a destination for abortion  Eight surrounding and more conservative states to Tennessee have tightened abortion laws and Tennessee is trying to catch up. Nearly a quarter of the women receiving abortions here live somewhere else. What makes Tennessee that place to flee when seeking an abortion?

“The laws are more lenient — that’s why more people are coming here,” said Elizabeth Orians, 52.

Unlike in most states, women seeking an abortion in Tennessee have no waiting period and need no special counseling.

So what do these other states have that we don’t? I’m confused…

The Tennessee Supreme Court ruled that abortion regulations were per se and what passed in widespread report in other states included: requiring abortion clinics to have licensed staff with local hospital admitting privileges, to be subject to health inspections, and to meet the same standards as other outpatient surgery clinics. This is what our state DOESN’T DO. This is what they WANT to do.

Is that all this vote is about?!

Yes. It’s not taking away abortion. It’s NOT the government’s interference in one’s choice to terminate their pregnancy. But wait…you saw the Vote No on 1 ad on television too, didn’t you? The one with  Dr. Owen Phillips from Memphis, Tennessee. Your heart fluttered in confusion for a moment when you saw this professional doctor explain that she had a patient who found out she was pregnant the same day her cancer came back. Her child lived! But she died.

Dr. Phillips then further states, “No politician has the right to legislate these personal and private decisions. But that is what Amendment 1 would do. Amendment 1 makes no exceptions for the awful things that can happen during pregnancy. Amendment 1 is just government interference. ”

Do you know what the pro-aborts are actually hoping through the lies of these ads? They are hoping you don’t read the fine print on Amendment 1 yourself. Because then you might find out that that is not what Amendment 1 says at all. There is no omitting of facts or trying to hide the truth here, it is a bold face, outrageous lie.

The well-financed opponents to Amendment 1 have no regard for truth. Without any regard to ethics and morals, Amendment 1 opponents have conspired to mislead the voters of Tennessee by falsely claiming that passage of the amendment would empower state legislators to strip women of the right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. Nothing could be further from the truth.”- Ed Albin

Ready to hear more?

Democratic Party Roy Herron is a pro-life Democrat and a strong Christian who in the past has stood for life and resisted the pro-abortionist tide of his party. Over this issue, he stated,”Amendment 1 would strip a woman of her right to make a terribly difficult, personal decision. Instead of letting a woman decide with her faith, her family and her doctor, Amendment 1 would let politicians restrict and potentially prohibit all abortions with no exceptions for rape or incest or even to save a woman’s life.”

What about prohibiting the lies that the “Vote No on 1” lobby has caused in the media? What deception and fabrication that has flooded the media (once again) from the nervous mouths of those who think they are fighting REAL women’s rights!

“Two landmark U.S. Supreme Court cases that were decided on the same day in 1973, Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton, guarantee that any woman in America can get an abortion at any stage of pregnancy. She only needs to find a doctor who will state that her mental or physical health would be impaired by the birth of a child.

In Doe vs. Bolton, the court ruled that a woman’s life does not have to be in jeopardy, thereby nullifying the trimester test in Roe. Under no circumstances can a state constitutional amendment trump the U.S. Supreme Court. There is no danger of Mr. Herron’s and the “No on 1” lobby’s parade of horrors becoming a reality.

Passing Amendment 1 would allow Democrats and Republicans to enact common-sense laws that would protect the health and well-being of women and girls seeking to terminate their pregnancies. If Amendment 1 passes, the state legislature, with bipartisan support, would be able to enact the same protections found in eight neighboring states. These include:

1) informed medical consent based on a woman’s health history; 2) a short, 24-hour waiting period so that a woman could fully process the information received; 3) access to clean, state-inspected facilities to avoid situations found in other states where women have died from unsafe, unsanitary conditions; and 4) hospitalizations for late-term abortions, defined as those in which the unborn child has reached 24 weeks or more.

These are common-sense safeguards that should be supported by both Democrats and Republicans because they will protect women’s health and prevent our state from becoming a tourist destination for desperate women.”

tn abortion

With Tennessee ranking third nationally for out of state abortions and handing over a discount for those traveling 50 miles or more, we are the easiest state in the Southeast for a women to kill her child.

1)Tennessee requires no health inspection of abortion facilities

2)Has no informed consent and no waiting periods for abortion.

3)Amendment 1 does not overturn Roe vs. Wade like the amendment’s opponents would have you believe

WHO IS REALLY FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS?

Time and time again Planned Parenthood will tell us how they are the one’s fighting for women’s health, safety and “Care. No matter what.”. Well I’m sorry PP, I don’t see how voting NO on Amendment 1 does anything to back up what you say you are committed to doing for women’s health.

1)By voting no on Amendment 1, you are supporting this type of facility:

abortionabortion

These are pictures from clinics that went without health inspections.

2a) No informed consent: The patient would not be provided with information from the doctor about health risks associated with abortions. This just does NOT. MAKE. SENSE. Let’s review those here:

Consider the Risks of Abortion

Side effects may occur with induced abortion, whether surgical or by pill. These include abdominal
pain and cramping, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.  Abortion also carries the risk of significant complications such as bleeding, infection, and damage to organs.  Serious complications occur in
less than 1 out of 100 early abortions and in about 1 out of every 50 later abortions. Complications may include:

  • Heavy Bleeding – Some bleeding after abortion is normal. However, if the cervix is torn or
the uterus is punctured, there is a risk of severe bleeding known as hemorrhaging. When this happens, a blood transfusion may be required. Severe bleeding is also a risk with the use of RU486.  One in 100 women who use RU486 require surgery to stop the bleeding.
  • Infection – Infection can develop from the insertion of medical instruments into the uterus,
or from fetal parts that are mistakenly left inside (known as an incomplete abortion).  A
pelvic infection may lead to persistent fever over several days and extended hospitalization.
It can also cause scarring of the pelvic organs.
  • Incomplete Abortion – Some fetal parts may be mistakenly left inside after the abortion. Bleeding and infection may result.
  • Sepsis – A number of RU486 or mifepristone users have died as a result of sepsis (total
    body infection).
  • Anesthesia – Complications from general anesthesia used during abortion surgery may
result in convulsions, heart attack, and in extreme cases, death.  It also increases the risk
of other serious complications by two and a half times.
  • Damage to the Cervix – The cervix may be cut, torn, or damaged by abortion instruments.  This can cause excessive bleeding that requires surgical repair.
  • Scarring of the Uterine Lining – Suction tubing, curettes, and other abortion instruments may cause permanent scarring of the uterine lining.
  • Perforation of the Uterus – The uterus may be punctured or torn by abortion instruments.
The risk of this complication increases with the length of the pregnancy. If this occurs, major surgery may be required, including removal of the uterus (known as a hysterectomy).
  • Damage to Internal Organs – When the uterus is punctured or torn, there is also a risk
that damage will occur to nearby organs such as the bowel and bladder.
  • Death – In extreme cases, other physical complications from abortion including excessive bleeding, infection, organ damage from a perforated uterus, and adverse reactions to anesthesia may lead to death. This complication is rare, but is real.

Consider Other Risks of Abortion

Abortion and Preterm Birth:

Women who undergo one or more induced abortions carry a significantly increased risk of
delivering prematurely in the future. Premature delivery is associated with higher rates of cerebral palsy, as well as other complications of prematurity (brain, respiratory, bowel, and eye problems).

Abortion and Breast Cancer: Medical experts are still researching and debating the linkage between abortion and breast cancer. Here are some important facts:

  • Carrying your first pregnancy to full term gives protection against breast cancer.  Choosing abortion causes loss of that protection.
  • A number of reliable studies have concluded that there may be a link between abortion and
the later development of breast cancer.

A 1994 study in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute found: “Among women who had been pregnant at least once, the risk of breast cancer in those who had experienced an induced abortion
was 50% higher than among other women.”

Emotional and Psychological Impact:

There is evidence that abortion is associated with a decrease in both emotional and physical health.  For some women these negative emotions may be very strong, and can appear within days or after many years.  This psychological response is a form of post-traumatic stress disorder.  Some of the symptoms are:

  • Eating disorders
  • Relationship problems
  • Guilt
  • Depression
  • Flashbacks of abortion
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Alcohol and drug abuse

2b)No waiting periods. Studies have shown that waiting periods are proven to help reduce abortion and give pregnant women time for more support.

It also has been shown with waiting periods they are more likely to choose LIFE. Who can argue with that? Even a pro-choice advocate has to agree there is nothing wrong with the mother’s CHOICE for life since she was given that option. Aren’t they always arguing about choice? Well there you have it…she made the choice for life all because she had to sleep on it.

abortion (1)

3) Amendment 1 does bring Tennessee back up to a standard equal to all the surrounding states by legally providing a safer environment for women who do choose to abort their babies.

More than 90% of all funding against Amendment One came from Planned Parenthood in Tennessee and across the country. This contribution was over $1.4 million. That is a lot of money to make sure women are NOT in a clean, safe environment with hospital privileges, are NOT fully informed of all health risks associated with their mercy killing, and ARE sure to let you know that if a patient is raped or dying of cancer wouldn’t be able to choose to abort their child. (FALSE. Right now it’s a federal law and abortion can’t be banned in Tennessee)

Bottom line: No on 1 Lobby is upset because…

North Carolina legislature approves abortion restrictions

“Amendment One was carefully crafted with the help of out-of-state anti-abortion professional lobbyists to move toward the goal of making abortion impossible to access in Tennessee. The people supporting the passage of Amendment 1 have clearly said that they believe all abortion should be illegal, no matter what – even when a woman’s health or life is in danger, or if she has been a victim of rape or incest.  Their goals have nothing to do with common sense, they want to eliminate access to abortion in Tennessee.Amendment 1 is dangerous, misleading and just goes too far.

Haha. Watch out Amendment 1 proponents. Yes, danger is lurking through this vote. Danger and deception is lurking all around. Except it’s not quite what you think. Because my vote of YES and our vote of YES doesn’t claim falsification that pro-life advocate’s goals are to end abortion…completely. You are SO RIGHT. You are RIGHT pro-killers.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Romans 8:31

Human Trophy

A innocent silence fell over our country this week. If you are a Pro-Life activist like myself, the noise of Emily Letts was destroying your soul as your eyes fell onto the great evil that was recorded. The death of her child. It’s as if the world stopped, for that one moment in the world wide web, in our reality TV driven society, as I viewed the murder of her baby. Not a fetus. (I hate that word).

And as studies suggest and have been proven that over 58% of Americans believe in LIFE, that other 42% of Pro-Killers should have been horrified as well. Even stronger, 84% believe in limiting abortion to the first 3 months of pregnancy.

Where is the applause Emily Letts? Yes, I may google your name it it comes up quite fast. Congrats. You’ve made a name for yourself. And…how despairing that your video has won The Abortion Care Network’s “Stigma Busting” award. (There really is such thing?!) Where are your high and almighty “topless” women feminists cheering you on? I know. They are out there. I have just chosen not to engage in more destruction of my mind. Oh wait, here ya go. I found one:

“At Planned Parenthood we work hard to eliminate stigma around abortion,” Eric Ferrero, vice president of communications at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America said in a statement to NBC. “While Emily’s story wasn’t filmed at a Planned Parenthood health center, it provides an all-to-rare opportunity for people to learn more about abortion and we commend her courage and honesty in sharing her story.”

So let me ask you Mr. Ferrero on your commencements of courage and honesty towards Emily…would you be so proud if Dennis Nilsen, a killer who murdered 15 gay men in London, England between 1978 and 1983, had the opportunity to film his victims’ bodies before he dissected their remains and disposed of the bodies by burning or flushing the remains down the toilet? Hmmm…that sounds all a bit too familiar doesn’t it? Sadly, yes it does. (Don’t believe me, google “aborted babies incinerated” and you will find a plethora of information in Canada and the UK. I don’t even need to go on about babies being in toilets at this point, do I?)

Or how about the Holocaust. Yes, I am going there.  Recently students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins compared remaining silent on abortion’s destruction to ignoring trains heading towards concentration camps. “We’re literally on the train track. Because this is where women are being led – to slaughter their children.”

Think comparing a legal medical procedure to the religious genocide of millions is just blatantly wrong? Right…55 million babies at the mercy of their own mother’s demands to be killed is seriously different then the estimated 11 million people murdered during the Holocaust. And now when I go to pull up the Phonics Song for my little boy to view on Youtube, I can also pull up a baby being suctioned through a vacumn while her laughing mother repeats over and over “I’m so lucky.”

Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing

Image

Emily’s blonde hair, contagious smile, and green eyes would catch anyone’s attention. This young, attractive 25 year old abortion counselor states “every time I watch the video, I love it. I love how positive it is. I think that there are just no positive abortion stories on video for everyone to see. But mine is.”

She continues with her positive decision. “I remember breathing and humming through it like I was giving birth,’ she says. ‘I know that sounds weird, but to me, this was as birth-like as it could be. It will always be a special memory for me. I still have my sonogram, and if my apartment were to catch fire, it would be the first thing I’d grab.”

Creepy.

I do not think that Ms. Letts’ release of this video the week of Mother’s Day is a coincidence. How twisted and delusional can one be? In her fight to help others realize that having an abortion can be a positive thing and not to be afraid, how can one only think so narcissistically to say “I feel in awe of the fact that I can make a baby. I can make a life. I knew what I was going to do was right, because it was right for me and no one else,” she concludes. “I just want to tell my story.”

You did not make a life. God gave you life. A living human being, with the rise and fall of it’s chest, breathing in it’s short life, fingers and toes curling and then uncurling in a matter of minutes. Rigid. Gone. And on camera with over a million viewers. This is a grim termination of a life. DO NOT COMPARE it to giving birth.

I fear that Emily Letts, being an abortion counselor who preaches on and on about birth control, was only pregnant for her sick purposes of her 15 minutes of fame…and to prove a point. She wants the feedback. She wants the criticism.

Personally watching the video myself, hearing her bothersome humming and “I’m so lucky” as if on repeat, not only entered my brain but my bloodstream for days.

And I’ve prayed.

Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is a way to death.”

No matter your beliefs, your theories, your morals, your knowledge, or your conclusions, we should all agree this is perverse. It was created for controversy. A child’s life was sacrificed to make a point. Well, I hope you made your point dear Emily, mother of one. And I will watch as your team of unfortunate individuals support you and try to top what you have just done…to continue to prove a point. Best wishes to you and your team. Well, let me tell you about my team.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

Almighty God is sovereign over all things and He is untouchable.  Nothing can match His Glory, strength, power, might, knowledge, forgiveness, blessings, riches, love, mercy, grace, omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, skill, handiwork, greatness, holiness, righteousness, availability, sensitivity, patience, tenderness, peace, graciousness, gentleness, self-control, joy, kindness, faithfulness, goodness, strategic ways, agape love, bravery, consistency, intentionality, humbleness, willingness, sympathy, empathy, beauty, authority, and anything else you can possibly think of. http://www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/if-god-is-for-us-who-can-be-against-us-verse-and-meaning/

As Christians, we will be surrounded by Angel Armies. We have the authority with the living spirit inside us to take reign over the enemy and cast him aside. Our God, MY God is bigger then any of this. He created Emily’s baby with perfection and guess what else…

Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him Psalm 127:3

It’s more then a shame that a person can be filled with such evil as this, to throw away a reward from our one true Creator. A gift. A life. A Youtube moment ending in death.

Emily Letts just may grab that sonogram in a fire.I believe her. It’s her trophy. Just like a serial killer, who likes to snag something from their crime scene so they can nourish, prolong, and treasure their act of evil.

She just might be chanting how lucky she is to prove a point to society that this is her body that she is at will to do with whatever she wants. Don’t let that charming smile fool you. Remember, that camera was angled at her head. The viewers were not exposed to what happened on the other side. We didn’t see the innocent blood shed and globs of cells or body limbs being dumped out onto a table afterwards to count to make sure in fact all the body parts were there.

No, we will only see the one side because that is what the media exposes. The more evil, untrue, destructive, malicious, and poisonous something is, the more the enemy will fight to push that to our beliefs, desensitizing and numbing us.

This Mother’s Day, please take a moment to pray for ALL mothers. For the mothers that chose their children, for the mothers that can’t have children, the selfless mothers that have adopted, the courageous mothers that chose adoption and for the misguided mothers that are in great denial that they have murdered their own flesh and blood, for the sake of themselves.

A Voice for “The Voiceless”

The awesome thing about laying down all vulnerabilities, fear, insecurities, and thoughts of failures when God has started your feet down a new path in life, are the surprises that He tends to give you along the way; if you so choose to accept His platform. Just because I say YES doesn’t always mean I know all the answers…or where I’m headed.

And this is how a new story begins.

THE VOICELESS

It was a normal March day working away at my job, checking my personal emails when the work had ended, that I came across one from my sister. Maxie had forwarded me an email from her coworker Marsha. My sister works for a TV production company here in Knoxville and so I figured this particular email was job related and happened to be something that caught her eye and therefore thought of me.

Hey Maxie, there is a new movie that is being made called Voiceless. They are doing this movie differently than most – they have all of the funding and now are announcing it and it will be shot soon.  Stuart Migdon, the guy behind it, came to our church two Sundays ago and spoke about lovingly confronting the culture. Here’s the movie website:

http://voicelessthemovie.com/  You can also find them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/voicelessthemovie

Unhesitatingly I clicked on the link to read more. I knew what the title meant…it explained itself. As I read on about the movie and what they were trying to do in our communities, by rallying up an army of people that could help promote this movie, I felt that flutter in my heart. Not even the delicate touches of a butterfly’s wings kind of flutter, more like a deep flutter that descends from your heart into the pit of your stomach kind of flutter. And what comes next after that kind of flutter? The question…

Ok God, what are you up to? Tell me,  I’m Yours.

Within minutes I responded to my sister, “Reading over this, I just had this overwhelming sense that God wants me to approach Pastor John at FBC with this video and “be” that person for the church. Pray for me for this.”

As the website for the movie cried out for us to get involved from sharing with your congregation to how to share it on social media, I typed in all my information to be contacted. I was eager to hear back. I wanted to see what would happen next.

Password protected

Within a week, the producer of the film, Stuart Migdon wrote me back. As he thanked me for my interest, he also explained unfortunately the script was password protected (to get involved, we needed to read the script of the movie first) and that it was confidential for pastors and other ministry leaders who were wanting to help get the word out.

Bummer.

However, he wanted to know my interest and  my “why” in helping with this cause.

Hi Stuart!
Well, I’m not involved (Yet) with a ministry. So maybe this is a hint to get moving 🙂 I am a prolife blogger. (you can find me here: changingskinsavinglives.wordpress.com) and have held a fundraiser for our local crisis pregnancy center here in Knoxville, Tennessee called Hope Resource Center.
I was forwarded your email about the movie from my sister’s coworker that works for a production company called North South.
I have been praying and possibly feel led to be the “person” to talk to my pastor about seeing if this is something we could get involved with. I attend First Baptist Concord. http://fbconcord.org/
Maybe you can offer some suggestions?!

Thanks for your time!
Emily-Anne

His Reply:

Hi Emily-Anne,
Thanks for your response, it’s great to hear about your involvement in the fight for the babies in the womb and I appreciate your desire to get involved in getting the word out about Voiceless.

It makes sense for us to talk and I look forward to it.

Boom. The password was mine! If you could say I was beyond thrilled, I was absolutely overjoyed. This film producer has just entrusted me with his beloved movie script! And yes, he could trust me.

After weeks of phone tag, the producer of the film, Stuart, and I finally talked. I have to say, after I called him back only once, and he called me several times leaving voice messages, I was quite impressed with his ability to just forget about me and move on if he wanted. Yet he didn’t. And I finally answered.

Image

New Jersey. Three years ago. Three hours. Stuart and his partner sat in the basement of a house and contemplated:

What can we do to impact the culture for Jesus Christ?

After much discussion, they couldn’t ignore the fact that the sin that was destroying our lives and nation, was abortion. And they had to do something about it.

Teamed up with Reel Works Studios (http://www.reelworks.net/), Stuart and his partner (the director of the film)  wanted a film that would provoke and engage the church and others about an issue that was dear to their heart. Approaching Chris Cates (CEO of Reel Works Studios) with a 300 K budget, Chris wanted some changes. After reading the script he responded that this was a film that needed to be done with excellence and that they wouldn’t accomplish that on this budget. Chris developed and suggested a much higher budget. With a newer budget, the film is headed in the direction of being released in October of 2015.

With the broken screen of my smartphone pressed to my ear, I heard and understood Stuart’s heart. This movie was not just about understanding the grief of the moms, dads, and babies that have been affected by unplanned pregnancies and abortion, but it was about His grief. How our Lord hurts. How He grieves. And how much God loves us. All of us.

Now the real question was, would this man understand my heart? Would he allow be to be a part of this awesome cause?

It was my turn to tell him about this chapter in my story that God is so abundantly and presently writing for me as we speak. I told him about how I was one of those ignorant ones. One that knew abortion was all wrong because I was raised that way but hadn’t found my “voice” in the matter. I told him about how a year ago I started to read and research more and more about abortion and how it crushed my heart to it’s core by crying every time I read something new about the way a baby was murdered. I spoke about how the Lord brought me Rodan+Fields as a way to just “give back” to Hope Resource Center which led me to hosting a fundraiser for them and continuing to feel God’s will for me pressing me forward in this fight. I told him how effective my blog has been, from all the private messages I have received about how peers can get involved, how can they also fight this fight, and even people in devastating depression because they have had an abortion and need some guidance. And last but not least, how the Author of this journey, just so happened to tug on my heart strings to contact his movie and want to get involved.

“I want to join forces with you Emily-Anne. Out of so many people that have filled out that form, you are the only one I have been contact with to help me like this.” (*that last sentence is not verbatim!)

I count you as a leader in Knoxville.”

I honestly have a hard time typing that. I cried when I text it to my mom and when I called my husband. Immediately the song that came to my head was “Who Am I?” by Casting Crowns.

Not because of who I am

But because of what You’ve done.

Not because of what I’ve done

But because of who You are

I’ve never felt so overwhelmed but so peaceful at the same time. To know that God has so specifically placed you in a path for His glory to change lives IS FOREVER AND EVER for myself to be humbly blessed to be called a part of His plan. Grateful. Amazed. And even scared at times. I won’t lie. This definitely isn’t the avenue I ever thought would have been laid out before me. So that is why I ask, “Who am I Lord? Who am I?”

So I challenge you on TWO things today:

1)What plan has God called you to be a part of? Are you too scared to move forward? Do you truly trust Him with where He is             leading you? And can I pray for you for that? I would absolutely love to! Please email me: Emilyab12@aol.com

Deuteronomy 31:6

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the L ord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

       2) Can I count on you to get involved? Stuart has asked me for very specific ways to get our community and our state involved! If I can count on you, would you comment below: “I’m in!”. Sadly I know this is a topic some people aren’t quite ready to put out there yet that they too want to fight for life! (because of all the private messages I get). So if you are more comfortable emailing me or private messaging me on Facebook, that is fine too! Please JUST DO IT.

And before we go, please please check out their first video promo here:

Outside Planned Parenthood

Yesterday March 5th, I drove my car into an unfamiliar destination. After getting a little lost of course.

(The devil always finds a way when my destination seems to be Pro-Life related. Getting a little lost was a better then the flat tires I received on the interstate in 20 degree weather last time!)Image

Waiting on me was my sister who arrived 20 minutes before and was frantically calling me to hurry since the people around her were “scary”. This destination was quite unfamiliar for her as well.

PLANNED PARENTHOOD.

My sister and I have been to a lot of places together, but definitely not this part of Knoxville. And definitely not Planned Parenthood. But here we were. Together. And with a mission. To pray.

On a gorgeous perfectly sunny day, my sister and I walked the sidewalk that so many women have walked before, yet with different destinations. So many women, with their “choice” on their shoulders, their “choice” in their belly, opening the doors to what they know will end their “choice” that they carelessly made. My sister and I walking that same sidewalk with the choice to pray for the future women whose feet will soon cover up our footsteps. And to pray for the women who so willingly “help” these misguided minds into making that final decision about their baby.

In preparing for our prayer hour for 40 Days of Life, I immediately thought of the the power of the Jericho Walk in Joshua 6:1-27. If you are unfamiliar with the story, God told Joshua to march around the city for 6 days. Then he said:

“It shall be that when they make a
long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound
of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout;
and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people
will go up every man straight ahead.” (Joshua 6:1-6)

This powerful story can be greatly used to pray over government, buildings, neighborhoods, churches, and even your country. In fact, I once did this, praying around my house that would not sell when we were paying 2 mortgages!

Unfortunately, facing the guidelines that Planned Parenthood had us follow, I wasn’t allowed to “walk” around their building in prayer. Who needs a special strip of grass to pray on when I’m across the street facing their doors? Like they say, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. No pun intended. Praying on my sidewalk was just fine. And that is exactly what I did.

I prayed for our gift of life God has given us. For the babies that are in danger of being aborted this month and for the moms to find the wisdom and strength they need to choose life. I prayed for the churches in our community; for them to reach out. I prayed for the abortionists, the nurses, doctors and even the secretaries, to feel conviction. I asked the Lord for continued strength to speak out against abortion, as this is definitely no easy task He has called me to.

“You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world.” Matthew 5:13-14

I had a few print outs that I researched and found helpful. A guideline specifically for 31 days. If you are interested in one for yourself, here is the link below. We need YOU! Just because you can’t pray in front of the clinic doesn’t mean we don’t need your prayers! Slip it into your Bible and pray daily for the next month as our city prays for the next 40 days.

Young beautiful woman, yellow cardigan, blue scarf, brunette pony-tail…I know you won’t look my way, but I see you. I know how you left the building with out a passing glance towards the sidewalk. And I know how it made you squirm in your car to have to sit at a long red light right next to me and another. But there was no judgement from me. No evil eyes. Just love. A full heart of love only wanting to reach out to you. And pray for you. Whatever your circumstances may be, I prayed so hard for you.

Striking blonde, woman in your 60’s, bold print sweater and fashionable jewelry. I prayed for you too. For your children and grandchildren. Prayers for whatever you represent and how your job may affect you. Maybe you don’t want to work there but you have to. Maybe you feel something odd in your heart when you hold your grandchild but go back to work the next day ending lives of those just like your own. No judgement from me. Just healing, loving prayers sent your way.

I can’t help but think as we sit quietly in prayer, no yelling, no condemnation, just peace, that if you can’t look our way, what do you have to be ashamed of? What are you hiding?

I’m thrilled to have met the strong, courageous women I did meet yesterday. And to know there are other women, young and old, in the community fighting this fight with me. I’m so happy to know I have stood next to my sister on my wedding day and most frequently her wedding day, and can now also stand next to her on a sidewalk that has once been covered with tears of innocent blood lost, and pray.

I’m beyond ecstatic that here in America we still have our freedom to be a part of an organization like 40 Days of Life! As previous director and manager of Planned Parenthood, Abbey Johnson, said this week:

“I wanted to share a stat with you that I heard from Planned Parenthood at the last national conference I attended in 2009.

They told us that when people are outside praying at clinics the “no show rate for abortion appointments goes up to 75%.” In other words, when people are outside praying, the percentage of women who have abortion appointments, but don’t show up is 75%.

If that’s not a reason to go and pray outside an abortion clinic, then I don’t know what is. To find a location near you, visit: http://40daysforlife.com/knoxville.html

Check out their link for more information on how you can help! Also, I did a post back in October about 40 Days for Life and you can view that below. I highly recommend reading it to learn more about this awesome program!

Stop BIRTH-DAY abortions

We can not, um, deliver a live baby.”

What a powerful sentence.  Do you happen to notice what two things are off about what this abortion counselor has said? First of all, she’s telling a woman that is 6 months pregnant that she can’t deliver a live human being (obviously or they’d have to let it suffer and die…Kermit Gosnell anybody?)  and secondly, the abortion counselor in the most uncivilized clinic in America did in fact, call this “thing” a BABY.

Prayer warriors America needs you today! New Mexico needs your prayers desperately. Right now the people of Albuquerque are voting, Tuesday November 19th, on whether to ban barbaric late-term abortions in their city. Thanks to the complete lack of protections for the pre-born child, innocent children can be destroyed up to the day of birth. Abortionists do “fly-ins” into the state to perform deadly “week-long procedures” – sometimes leaving mothers in hotel rooms to deliver their children, killed by poison, alone.

Southwestern Women’s Options, Albuquerque is currently the late-term abortion capital of the USA.

Do you know how much these so-called doctors make from extremely dangerous late-term abortions?  Watch Live Action’s first video, “Profits from Pain,” to find out.

Poisoning precious human beings to death is big business for Big Abortion.  That’s why Planned Parenthood has dumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into opposing Albuquerque’s late-term abortion ban.

Even worse, local hotels are in on the killing.  Watch the second video, “‘Room Service’ Abortions in ABQ,” to see how far the Plaza Inn will go to make sure Southwestern Women’s Options’ abortionists get their cash.

DON’T LISTEN TO THE RHETORIC,
GET THE FACTS

LATE-TERM ABORTION IN
NEW MEXICO DOES NOT PROTECT
WOMEN’S HEALTH
OR SAFETY

  • Abortion is legal for any reason through all nine months of pregnancy in New Mexico until the day of birth.
  • Albuquerque is home to the largest late-term abortion facility in the country and is considered the late-term abortion capital of the nation.
  • Out-of-state doctors travel to our city each week to target the lack of common sense laws and regulations on abortion in New Mexico and profit from the lucrative and dangerous late-term abortion industry.
  • Abortion clinics that perform surgical abortion, including dangerous late-term abortion are not classified as ambulatory surgical centers.
  • The New Mexico Department of Health has no oversight over abortion clinics in New Mexico–making abortion clinics less safe and accountable than nail salons.

I would encourage the other side-and those undecided-to look at the facts: the scientific fact that these babies feel tremendous pain is compelling enough to end these late term abortions. With that considered, just put yourself in the baby’s shoes.”-Andrea Gilligan, Communications Director, Protect ABQ Women and Children”

Prayer to End Abortion

“Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life,
And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.

I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion,
Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death
by the Resurrection of Your Son.

I am ready to do my part in ending abortion.
Today I commit myself
Never to be silent,
Never to be passive,
Never to be forgetful of the unborn.

I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement,
And never to stop defending life
Until all my brothers and sisters are protected,
And our nation once again becomes
A nation with liberty and justice
Not just for some, but for all.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen!”

Help for Hope!

Last night my friend and new seminar partner, hosted our very first event together, HELP FOR HOPE! I can’t wait to share with you how it went, but first, I’d love to tell the story of how it all came into action, because we all know, when God is in control, greater things abound when we are obedient to Him!

September 10th, 2013 I wrote:

“Melanie! You may or may not know I partnered up with Rodan+Fields dermatologists and the Lord has blessed me more abundantly then I ever thought with this! Since I’ve known you in the 7th grade, you are one of the sweetest and most genuine people I know, business savvy and smart…and so darn beautiful inside and out!!!

I saw that you posted doing seminars with your company. (how cool!) And I thought quite possibly you may be interested in something BIG I’m doing. Long story short (but I’d love to tell you more) God is leading me down a new path in my life that is quite exciting and He is using this business to do it. A portion of the earnings I make I’m giving to Hope Resource Center. Are you familiar with what they do? And I don’t even know what your stance is on abortion and you don’t have to say because I know it can be a touchy topic…but I thought how awesome it would be if you ever wanted to do a seminar together.”

Her response:

“…. I would LOVE to do a joint seminar with you. Lets make it happen! Ill write more tonight xxoo”

During this past summer, I noticed that Melanie’s business, Alma Diem, was successfully growing, and how her and her business partner Katie, held their first seminar together on FEAR. I immediately thought and prayed for weeks about contacting Melanie and sharing the vision I had with her. I wasn’t even quite sure what I would say or how this whole “thing” would work. Would we get together and twiddle our fingers thoughtlessly trying to come up with a plan? How would we even get started?

Weeks later, I finally messaged Melanie. Her response was exciting yet simple. It wasn’t until we met up for a glass of wine at a nearby restaurant to discuss how this plan would come full circle and see how God had placed us exactly where He wanted us. Together.

Melanie is in her own words, “the blondest Mexican you will ever see”! (ha, love her heart!) But in my words, she is like a magnet that draws anyone in around her. She is comforting and warmth and your new best friend after 5 minutes of talking with her. I hadn’t seen this sweet woman since middle school! And here we were randomly meeting up because of a vision that God placed on my heart.

She quickly shared her story of college, dating, and how she met her handsome mate (who is the assistant DA in Knoxville-woop woop!) She shared the highs and lows of some marriage days and how she was awarded #1 massage therapist in Knoxville! (I’m telling you, if you meet her, you will instantly know why!) Then it gets more exciting….about how God led her and her husband back to Knoxville.

The success Melanie had with her first seminar was so overwhelming, that her and her business partner decided that they wanted to do one more event before the year 2013 was up. Melanie literally said, “Bam. And there was your email, asking me to join you. I looked up at the sky and said, ‘Thank you God!'”

We giggled and laughed and kept jaw-dropping at each others stories on how we were brought together at this incredible moment in a corner booth.

She said to me, that her massage therapy was just the vehicle used to get her to where God really wants her, sharing with people about Fear. “Fear is a spiritual block to God” is what she had us repeat at the seminar last night, referencing her old cheerleader days. “Repeat after me: FEAR is a spiritual block to God!”

March 10th, 2009 Melanie wrote to me:

“i had a trip to new york and a job offer lined up with a christian independent film company and i was supposed to leave sunday, but i got a call yesterday that their staff is leaving for Europe and I’ll have to reschedule in may… good news for them and the small company that they are, but not good for me… my hope is that God has something bigger planned for me than i could dream up for myself, but i have to admit…it is hard to hold on to that right now. are you in Knoxville?? what’s your story?”

Oh yes. God absolutely had something bigger planned for Melanie. As well as for myself thinking I’d be working in a jail the rest of my life.

Long story short, to see how God brought Melanie and her husband Hector to Knoxville to be in the position she is in around so many people, and God using her to change lives daily to be partnered up with me on a journey I didn’t even quite know where I was headed, leading us to the cafe last night with standing room only is NOT a coincidence friends. It is our Almighty God and the greatest Author you will ever know.

Help for Hope had drinks, it had appetizers, it had a massage therapy chair, a wine sommelier, a jewelry designer, a tech guy, a short film. It had people. People that couldn’t get by without bumping into another person. Help for Hope had my sweet, brave, and beautiful guest speaker Johnna Bullard. Johnna poured out her heart about choosing abortion when faced with an unwanted pregnancy yet to turn around and choose LIFE after meeting with an advocate at Hope Resource Center. She now celebrates a gorgeous, smart, and lively 12 year old daughter Jaden Lily HOPE! (Can I get an A-men?!) Read more about her powerful story here:

http://johnnajobullard.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-story-of-jaden-lily-hope.html?m=1

And most importantly, Help for Hope had a jar stuffed with money and donations. It had everyone’s attention. The room was full of awareness and positivity. It had women asking me about speaking at their small groups, churches, and more. It held tears of heart break and restoration. And it had new hands of people ready and willing to serve. Praise the Lord for hearts to volunteer and take action!

So when you are obedient and because you have heard that little voice in your head become louder and louder to serve, don’t ignore it. You never know who’s lives will be changed….and SAVED.

I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is “Abortion”, because it is a war against the child… A direct killing of the innocent child, “Murder” by the mother herself… And if we can accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love… And we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts… – Mother Teresa

Blessings!

Barack Obama, “Something Special is happening…”

This week, a very important ban on abortion failed, missing the deadline by just minutes. But wait, most social media will allow you to believe this was a huge fail! Yet that isn’t the whole story. This ban would have prevented all abortions after 20 weeks, when a baby feels pain, and would require doctors to have admitting privileges into hospitals.

This is what passed!

*Breaking news!  Oh, what amazing grace of Jesus. We have won! The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has temporarily overturned the injunction put on part of the Texas prolife bill! Now ALL FOUR parts are to be enacted immediately! More than a dozen abortion clinics will now not be able to operate! Final hearing will be in January. So today in Texas, a third of the abortion doors have closed. Women will have to reconsider their options and babies are being saved! What victory we have in this! (Updated November 1st, 2013)

In addition, it requires abortionists to follow FDA rules for administering abortion drugs. There was an estimation that nearly half of the state of Texas’s abortion clinics would have been closed due to  holding up to these qualifications.

Let me speak this in layman’s terms for you since Planned Parenthood is solely interested in the health and care of women first and foremost.

(Don’t let that fool you. They are only concerned with doubling and increasing their abortions yearly for profit. Just ask Abby Johnson. http://www.abbyjohnson.org/). This bill that wasn’t passed, is continuing to allow doctors that ARE NOT allowed to practice in a hospital, to keep on performing high risk and dangerous abortions on young women. I don’t know about you, but I believe any doctor touching and working on my body better be highly trained, professional, and worthy of the job to keep me safe and protected.

“Blocking this law only puts vulnerable women in great danger,” said Anna Higgins, director of the Center for Human Dignity at the Family Research Council. “We are very disturbed that a judge would partially block a law that is grounded in the latest science and common sense.”

Wendy Davis. Texas State Senator. Known as a woman of strength in her back brace to help her stand comfortably during her 13 hour filibuster, “abortion barbie”, and fashion sense of her hot pink shoes. What a woman. So elegant. So graceful. So loving. What admiration I have for her to speak so long about killing babies as a right, I mean Woman’s Rights. Wendy Davis spoke on and on and on for so long, that the clock ticked and time expired to pass the bill.

She even gained our President’s support. President Barack Obama tweeted Tuesday night: “Something special is happening in Austin tonight. #StandWithWendy”. Do you support Wendy’s fight for death and the support from our President that tweets about “something special”?

Yeah, this picture below sure is something special.

Then let me ask you Senator and President, why isn’t this picture so special?

But Pro-Killers, if that 24 week old baby aborted doesn’t excite you yet, maybe it will that it isn’t over yet. Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is expected to appeal. Both for Texas and Pro-Life activists, the fight is far from over. Appealing in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals could take months. The restrictions are on hold for now, but aren’t expected to stay that way.

As David Freddoso put it, Wendy Davis can now say, “When the moment came to stand up for smashing the life out of a baby 6 months into pregnancy, I was up to the task.” This is not an accomplishment of which she should be proud.

Texas isn’t alone. In less then a month, Albuquerque will be the first city in the country with the opportunity to vote to ban late-term abortions starting at 20 weeks of pregnancy. New Mexico is one of 15 states that uses taxpayer money to fully fund abortions. In 2011, taxpayers funded 1,786 abortions through state Medicaid to the tune of over 1.1 million dollars.

A recent undercover investigation was recorded due to the upcoming vote on late-term abortion. Watch here:

Late-Term Abortion

Also known as the “MOLD” Technique-Stands for the four products employed in the abortion process: Misoprostol, Oxytocin, Laminaria, and Digoxin.

Currently, this late-term abortion process is in use in pregnancies as late as 35 weeks at:

Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Germantown Reproductive Health Services in Maryland

Boulder Abortion Clinic in Boulder, Colorado

Pro-Choice Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

Other abortionists also use this process in the second and third trimesters but are less open about it.

The Induction abortion takes 3-4 days to complete. On the first day the woman is given an ultrasound to determine the gestational age of her baby. Then, with the aid of the ultrasound to guide the abortionist, a lethal dose of the heart medication Digoxin is injected into the baby’s heart or into the amniotic fluid directly through the woman’s abdomen. (Potassium chloride is infrequently substituted for Digoxin.) Digoxin gives the baby a fatal heart attack. This is an off-label application of the drug, which was originally developed and approved as a treatment for heart disease. In some cases, the injection can be made vaginally instead of through the abdomen.

This syringe to the left is one that is placed into a baby’s heart, possibly feeling like a heart attack.

Those who have experienced massive heart attacks, describe them as extremely painful and frightening. It is well documented that babies in the later stages of pregnancy can feel pain, and at least one study indicates that babies as young as 6-8 weeks gestation may experience pain.

After the Digoxin injection, the woman’s cervix is packed with laminaria, thin tampon-like sticks made of seaweed that expand the cervix gradually over the next day. The drug Misoprostol is also administered vaginally to “ripen” the cervix for the upcoming delivery of the dead baby.

Misoprostol is a drug that was originally manufactured to treat stomach ulcers. Its use in abortions is an off-label application not approved by the FDA. Misoprostol stimulates uterine contractions which are unpredictable and sometimes violent.

After the first day’s injection and cervical preparation, the patient is sent home or to a local hotel where she will remain unmonitored until her appointment at the clinic the following day.

On Day 2 of the procedure, the woman is repacked with larger laminaria sticks and given additional Misoprostol to prepare the woman for labor. The Misoprostol may be administered both vaginally or bucally (between the cheek and jaw), depending on whether delivery is expected on Day 3 or 4. If the woman is undergoing a later, 4 day process, she will return on Day 3 for additional laminaria and Misoprostol. Each day until delivery, she is sent back to her hotel where she remains unmonitored, even though active labor had begun or was in progress.

Sometimes, women cannot be able to get to the clinic in time and deliver their dead babies in the hotel, in vehicles, or other places were medical assistance is nonexistent. Tiller admitted so much in an video he produced for the purpose of introducing prospective abortion patients to the late-term abortion process.

“I left my baby alone in a toilet”…Don’t miss this young woman’s interview with Bill O’Reilly here about her experience with Dr. George Tiller, the creator of the induction abortion.

I’m disgusted. I’m disgusted that women are told that they have a choice yet no one tells us what that choice is or what that choice is going to do to us or to the baby for that matter. Very few people, I think, know that this is what happens. It’s not just an easy solution. It’s not an answer to any problem, it just creates more problems.”

On the final day of the abortion, the woman is given the drug Oxytocin, which induces or augments contractions and the onset of labor. Women then are placed in a room where they endure the final stage of labor process. When it is determined that the labor has progressed to the point where the baby is about to be delivered, each woman is usually taken into a room with a toilet and told to lean on the nurse and push the baby into the toilet.

The toilet delivery method is used by a number of abortionists, including Florida abortionist James Pendergraft. Other abortionists may allow the woman to deliver on a delivery table. Still others, such as former Michigan abortionist Alberto Hodari, prefer to remove the dead baby through dismemberment.

Once the dead baby is delivered, the woman is given a procedure called Dilation and Curettage, or D&C. Here, a sharp edged spoon-shaped instrument is used to remove the remaining tissue, such as the afterbirth, from the uterus.

Complications from lethal fetal injections are well known. In Orlando, Florida, the misuse of Digoxin resulted in the live birth of Baby Rowan who died after abortion clinic workers denied him medical care. In Wichita, Kansas, Tiller’s needle slipped, and Baby Sarah was injected in the head with a toxic drug that was a precursor to digoxin. She survived and was later adopted, but suffered a malady of medical problems. She died five years later from complications to the injuries she received as a result of the injection.

“But frankly, debate over digoxin/dead baby abortions versus live baby abortions is absurd. The result is still a dead baby. Both procedures are barbaric and hold serious risks to women,” said Operation Rescue Senior Police Advisor Cheryl Sullenger. “The act of killing a pre-born baby is in itself immoral and until we can come to grips with that as a society, we never be able to value life as we should.”

Lord Jesus thank you for your victory! Thank you for the abortion clinics being closed one by one today in Texas. At this time Lord, I lift up the distraught faces of each woman that you have created with life inside of them, who now don’t know where to turn. I pray for the right people with loving hearts and open arms to welcome these women into their life, to learn who YOU are, through their actions. Lord Jesus this is all for your glory! I pray for changed hearts and minds and that your love shines onto these women wanting to kill and to the father’s of these unborn children. God in the beginning, you said, “Let there be light!” and there was. I pray today that they see your light.

Amen.
